Fat Transfer Surgery
The fat transfer procedure is known as autologous fat transplantation or microlipoinjection. It involves extracting fat cells from the patient's abdomen, thighs, buttocks, or elsewhere, and re-injecting them beneath the skin of the patient’s recipient site. Fat is withdrawn from the patient in one of three ways: with a syringe that has a large bore needle or with a liposuction cannula. The fat is prepared and then injected into the patient’s recipient site.
