WHAT IS A BROW LIFT?
Brow lift, also known as a forehead lift or browplasty, is a cosmetic surgery procedure used to rejuvenate the face or gain more harmonic and aesthetic proportions in the face. Whether it’s to correct a drooping brow line or smooth out “worry” lines or marks of aging, a brow lift can restore a youthful appearance.
TYPES OF BROW LIFTS
DIRECT BROW LIFT
In a direct brow lift an ellipse of skin is removed as well as the muscle just above the eyebrows. This technique does not address
wrinkles or lines within the forehead. This procedure it is typically reserved for older patients or for men with thick eyebrow hair or male pattern baldness. You will have a minor incision, and surgical scars may be prominent, however it will be hidden within the brow hair.
A mid-forehead lift is intended for patients 65 or older who have heavy sagging eyebrows and the deepest forehead wrinkles. To bring about a more youthful look, the surgeon makes incisions within the deep forehead wrinkles and removes the excess skin, fat and muscle. Incisions are made within the deep wrinkles so that the resulting scars are hidden and not very noticeable after healing.
ENDOSCOPIC FOREHEAD LIFT
The most current technique, called an endoscopic forehead lift, is a type of brow lift that reduces the amount of sagging fat from your eyelids. This type of brow lift removes wrinkles and bags under the eye. Endoscopic forehead lifts involve the use of a surgical telescope to elevate your brows, this smoothing forehead wrinkles. Small incisions are made behind the hairline.
