Many of our patients are huge fans of thermage. They use words like, “ecstatic” and “thrilled” when they talk about their results. What is thermage? It might be time for you to learn more about this “favorite” non-invasive procedure, designed to tighten and lift skin, smooth out wrinkles and redefine and renew youthful facial contours.
The areas of treatment:
- Face
- Around the eyes
- Neck
- Hands
- Body
The preparation
Sitting comfortably in a reclining chair, a stencil is placed on your face (or neck, hands, etc.) and squares to indicate the treatment area are marked off in black ink. Then a gel is applied.
The treatment
The ThermaTip™ is placed on the skin, treating each marked area using a patented radiofrequency (RF) technology called ThermaCool®. You will feel heat from the treatment, which most patients can tolerate with light (or no) pain medication or numbing.
Each time the tip touches your skin, it’s uniformly heating a large area of collagen in the deeper areas of your underlying tissue, while at the same time, protecting the outer layer of skin by cooling it.
Once the procedure is complete, any discomfort that you might have felt vanishes instantly.
No downtime
When patients look in the mirror after thermage treatments they’re usually surprised that their skin shows no irritation or redness. Most go back to work or other activities the same day – noticing that their skin appears healthier and smoother.
Why it works
The deep heating causes your skin to feel tighter and appear smoother immediately. And over about two to six months after only one treatment, new collagen is produced, and your skin will experience further rejuvenation and tightening.
A more youthful appearance – now and later
Everyone has their unique skin issues and their own reasons for choosing thermage. But most would agree that it’s quite gratifying to see results right after they’ve had the procedure and even more improvement over time.
Could this be your new favorite skin treatment?
